INTRODUCTION
Launched by the film Mercy, this movement aims to raise awareness on gender based violence in Kenya and privide resources for young women.
What is starting off as a simple hashtag, with your help, will one day make waves across the world and help us fight gender-based violence, sexual abuse, and assault.
What this movement aims to do is not only to prevent abuse and sexual assault but also to let women who have been through this not feel alone. With that, on the first Wednesday of every month, we want Nairobi to 'be purple' literally, not only by having people wear purple but by having powerful structures turn purple as a show of solidarity with women.
